Password. Change admin password quarterly (set a calendar reminder).
Password. Change FTP password quarterly (set a calendar reminder).
Plugins. Check “Details” for each plugin within the WordPress Plugin Directory.
Note Plugin last update date, Plugin Homepage link, and reviews.
General rules for plugin security. Discontinue or consider replacing plugin if:
– more than 6 months since last update
– Plugin’s homepage is offline
Use free website monitoring services to monitor your website’s reputation online as well as changes.
Update WordPress and plugins monthly (set a calendar reminder).
