A client’s open letter of thank you to a WordPress forum, written by – Teri H., from @beadathomemom
Hello and glad to be part of the group. I wanted to share a little story from this ‘always feeling like a newbie to anything tech’.
Yesterday I started the day with a 2nd notification of a hacked WP site. Thought it was taken care of but apparently more than I could comprehend to correct. I was told by my hosting provider to find a third party developer or a security consultant. I was beside myself not knowing which way to turn.
I reached out in another WP group and did some searching on my own. Between the two I stumbled onto the same great find that saved the day for this ‘newb’ and thought I would pass along.
Through the process I stumbled onto this group and quickly joined looking for some answers. I later discover that my previous discovery is a member of this group. You may or may not be familiar with him but I’m plugging this recommendation under the heading of ‘Keep Calm and Secure Your Site’. www.hackrepair.com Jim Walker was my super tech hero that saved the day and a wealth of headaches. It was well worth the money, quite affordable actually I thought for what I was expecting.
Jim also offers regular services to make sure your site stays safe, I am a new customer.
When learning to maneuver this WP and self hosting process I hear and hear about security and back up and such but didn’t understand the depth of it. I updated themes and plugins regularly but apparently it takes a whole lot more than I understood.
There is a lot to learn when you are a DIY and if you aren’t tech savy don’t run the risk that I did. Protect yourself against the hackers because they are out there and they don’t discriminate.
If you haven’t taken the correct measures to secure your site don’t let it scare you, have someone who knows what they are doing do it for you. Jim is a real guy and a real gem and real affordable. Pay for it now or you will be paying for it later.
Thanks for the platform and I look forward to learning more from this group.
