The Hack Repair Guy’s Group Password Reset Plugin
Need to reset passwords for dozens, hundreds, or even thousands of WordPress users without doing it one account at a time? The Hack Repair Guy’s Group Password Reset plugin was built for exactly that job.
This free plugin was developed for real-world post-hack recovery and security cleanup work. It is not hosted in the WordPress.org repository. You can download the official installable plugin zip directly from GitHub and use it on your own WordPress site.

Plugin Description
The Hack Repair Guy’s Group Password Reset plugin is a native WordPress admin tool that lets administrators bulk reset passwords by scope, skip excluded usernames, and send secure password reset links to affected users.
Why I Created This Plugin
I needed a reliable way to reset passwords for more than 600 WordPress user accounts and notify each user with a password reset email. I looked through the WordPress plugin repository and could not find a tool that handled that workflow the way I needed, so I built one.
Why Use The Hack Repair Guy’s Group Password Reset Plugin?
- Bulk Password Reset: Reset passwords for large numbers of WordPress users in minutes instead of hours.
- Flexible Scope Selection: Target all users, a specific role, or Administrator (excluding current user).
- Administrator Safety Option: Reset administrator accounts while automatically excluding the currently logged-in administrator.
- Excluded Usernames: Skip specific usernames so critical or protected accounts are left untouched.
- Secure User Notifications: Send each affected user a secure WordPress password reset link instead of exposing raw passwords.
- Batched Processing: Handles large user sets in batches for smoother, safer processing.
- Safer Fallback Processing: Even without JavaScript, the plugin processes large resets in chunked steps instead of relying on one long request.
- Clear Results Reporting: Review success, failed, and skipped results after each run.
- Post-Hack Recovery: Ideal for locking down user accounts quickly after a breach or compromise.
- Native WordPress Admin Screen: Straightforward interface that feels familiar inside WordPress.
- Works Without JavaScript: Includes a non-JavaScript fallback for broader compatibility.
Use with care: this plugin can invalidate a large number of user passwords very quickly. That is exactly what makes it valuable during a security incident, but it also means you should use it intentionally.
